Summary:

 

The Palmisano Foundation is seeking a dynamic half-time Director to lead the foundation in partnership with a supportive and engaged board of directors and volunteer staff. The Director will provide direction for the foundation, while playing a lead role in fund development and overall administrative operations.

 

We are prioritizing candidates who demonstrate a long-term interest and commitment to strengthening and growing the foundation. Depending on fundraising and future needs, this position could become full-time in the future.

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall administration support and prepare accurate and timely analyses that capture and communicate fundraising results, variances, and performance trends
  • Provide support for the foundation, including maintaining and securing relationships with, and funding support from, individual donors, partners, and other foundations.
  • Work collaboratively with the Board in formulating and implementing the strategic direction and goals while communicating regularly with the Board
  • Provide the leadership, communication, management skills and effective internal and external relations that provide transparency to the operations
  • Organize and assist with the implementation of special events
  • Assists staff in establishing vendor accounts and developing policies to support gifts, contributions, and any grant activities
  • Represent the foundation at social and corporate events in ways that strengthen the brand and communicate the foundation’s message
  • Oversee day-to-day operations including organizing service day projects, managing volunteers, event budgets and logistics, and vendor relationships
  • Act as a liaison and ambassador, maintain and create new relationships on behalf of the Foundation 
  • Create and implement a marketing and communication plan to include strategies that will increase visibility and fundraising activities for the foundation 
  • Assist to maintain updated website information and use social media to promote the work of the foundation
  • Create articles for publication and newsletters to create a frequent stream of positive communications regarding the activities and results
  • Respond to all communication requests for general and specific information
  • Identify and build relationships with organizations throughout the region that align with the foundation’s mission
  • Establish and adhere to foundation policies, best practices, and procedures
  • Maintain compliance with applicable laws governing a 501c 3 corporation



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as director or manager of an educational or nonprofit foundation
  • Strong management and interpersonal skills
  • A proven track record of reaching fundraising goals through individual donor and foundation cultivation
  • Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, innovative, and self-directed
  • Experience in creating and implementing strategic plans
  • Experience working with boards of directors
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including familiarity with digital communication and engagement strategies

 

Weekly Work Hours:

  • 20-25 hours per week, with the possibility of changing based on demand
